Behind every great love is a great love story...
The opening scene in this movie was a man, in his eighties, trying to describe himself as modest as he can...
"I am no one special. Just a common man with common thoughts. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who ever lived. I've loved another with all my heart and soul and for me that has always been enough..."
To hear this old man expressing his deep love for his wife is a heartwarming thing. To him, as long as he loves his wife, nothing else in the world could be sweeter. And for him that was enough.
The movie "The Notebook" is considered one of the most famous love stories of all time... The plot may be like Titanic's - rich girl meets poor boy, the parents did not agree on their relationship, they were separated yet longed for each other, the other found someone else, yet in the end, the lovers of the past still yearn for each other and the love was unquencheable - yet the movie is different in the sense that it is realistic. The lovers were always fighting, arguing, and shouting with each other. A great love doesnt necessarily means that everything should be perfect and in order. Sometimes, it's the misunderstandings that can add spice to it. :)...
"Southern summers are indifferent to the trials of young love. Armed with warnings and doubts Noah and Allie gave a remarkably convincing portrayal of a boy and a girl traveling down a very long road with no regard for the consequences."
There are now new movies that can be called "great love stories" but for me, no movie can ever compensate "The Notebook" 's enchanting power to make me cry, make me laugh and make me feel what true love really is... Even Twilight can't beat Sparks' best selling novel. :)
And even Edward Cullen can't best out Noah's sweetest lines:
*The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. That's what I hope to give you forever.
*That's my sweetheart in there. Wherever she is, that's where my home is.
*I think our love can do anything we want it to.
*They didn't agree on much. In fact they rarely agreed on anything. They fought all the time and they challenged each other everyday... But in spite their differences, they had one important thing in common, they were crazy about each other.
*So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me... everyday.
Ohhh Im really carried away.. :)).. True Love it is.. :)... And it was not really easy.. They tried hard.. And they succeeded.. :)).. Nothing can be more romantic than falling in love, overcoming trials, and die with love and happinness in the heart.. :)
And oh, by the way, here's my favorite scene in the movie.. :)).. Like a heart-string... :)
